Description

Where people drive to escape the bright lights of the city

CAMERA: Sony α7RII (ILCE-7RM2)

LENS: Zeiss Batis 18mm 2.8

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had intended to show only my deep sky images here on AstroBin, not my night sky stuff; but then, and I suppose inevitably, the thought occurred, “Why not?” If you have an answer to this question, feel free to comment below. Worry not, I’ll only inflict a few of these on you (for now).

I shot this one a while back with an unmodified camera (so no Hα). It is a multi-row panorama taken from Glacier Point overlooking Yosemite Valley. Ursa Major and Polaris (upper left corner), the “northern” Milky Way, M31 and even M33 tell you the direction I was facing. I hope you find it interesting.
